S.E.N.D.

We are proud to say that we are a fully inclusive school where all pupils are welcomed. pupils with additional needs do receive specialised support and small group work to meet their individual needs and the schools inclusion team is managed and led by Miss Whitcombe. Mrs Jones is often the first point of contact for any parent who is worried about their child and she is very good at supporting families and those who are most risk of not making progress. Miss Whitcombe is usually available at the start and end of the school day and can be found on the Terrace.

Parents will be informed of any concerns about their child's progress arising from class teachers. Staff will; through their assessments identify areas where support is needed. Specific programmes of work will be devised and recorded on an Individual Education Plan (IEP). If it is required other assessments will be undertaken with parental permission to ensure the best provision is secured. All pupils may, at some time have difficulties, and staff will be aware of these transitory problems and provide for them accordingly. Having identified children with particular needs, all staff will follow the school SEND policies and procedures below.
